24-year-old Ghanaian defensive midfielder Amissah Anfoh Assan has joined Ghanaian Premier League outfit Elmina Sharks FC on-a-one year deal.

Amissah joined Elmina Sharks on a free transfer.

He began his career in 2006 with Kickers FC, where he spent two years before signing for Windy Professionals.

He left Windy Professionals and signed for Abu Qair Semad an Alexandria based Egyptian club, in 2011. After two years he moved on to join Tala’ea El-Gaish SC, where he spent a season before signing for Haras El-Hodood SC, all based in Egypt as well.

In 2015, the midfielder moved to Baghdad FC in Iraq, where he spent two years before signing for another Iraqi club, Al-Kahrabaa, his last employers.

The native of Accra has been brought in to add more steel in the midfield of coach Yaw Acheampong’s team.

He is their fifth signing in view of the second round of the 2019-2020 Ghanaian Premier League season.

Elmina Sharks FC are currently ranked 5th on the Ghanaian Premier League table after 15 playing days with 25 points, three less than league leaders Aduana Stars.

They are hoping that their new signings can help them genuinely challenge for the Ghanaian league title this season.
