Experienced center-back, Aminou Bouba has joined Indian Premier League outfit Gokulam Karela FC on a one-year deal.
The towering defender joins the club from Cameroon top-flight side Eding Sport de La Lekie where he featured in a handful of games this season and scored.
The sweeper who caught the eye of many in the 2011 season while playing for Cotonsport of Garoua has gone on to represent clubs in multiple countries but this move is his first to a team from India.
Once of Esperance of Tunis and CS Constantine,Bouba has had some sort of a Globetrotting career but this looks more or less like the final move to abroad.
The player has signed and insected an option for an additional year.
In the International scene, Bouba represented the Junior, Olympic and senior Lions at some point. He counts up to three senior appearances for the five time African Champions.
The defender couldn’t hold back his emotions about joining the club.
“I am glad to play in India. I have played in different leagues in various countries and I look forward to a successful stint at Gokulam Kerala FC. The club has a huge profile and I would love to contribute to the successes here,” the former Horoya AC defender stated.
The club’s lead trainer and president were also full of admiration for the player.
“He is an excellent player. He is a left-footer and suits our style of play. He has got good international experience both in the club and for the national team. He has an attacking mind and eye to score goals also. I am so happy that he is here,” said Gokulam Kerala FC Head Coach Vincenzo Alberto.
“We are glad to have Aminou Bouba in our ranks. His presence and experience will help our defensive line. We wish him all the best for the upcoming season,” said VC Praveen, Gokulam Kerala FC president.
The Native of Maroua-Cameroon has spent over a decade on the pitch as a loyal servant to all clubs he has worked for.
Aminou joins a handful of Cameroonians plying their trade in India.
