Indomitable of Lions Cameroon and Krasnodar defender Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo has picked up a nasty injury that could keep him out of action for more than three months.
Oyongo who recently left Montpellier for Krasnodar made his debut for the Club in the weekend against Ural in a Russian Premier League game but it turned out to be a sorry debut.
Oyongo who started the game on the bench came on 12 minutes before the break but failed to return after the interval.
Latest reports from Russia have it that Evgeniy Chernov’s replacement on Sunday damaged internal ligaments within 13 minutes of his introduction and could be out for minimum three months or up five months.
The Montpelier loanee underwent scans on the knee this Monday, while awaiting results there are signs that he will miss at least 12 of his side’s games plus Cameroon’s doubled clashes against Cape Verde and Rwanda or even more.
It is the second long-term injury in the career of the former Cotonsport full-back and 2017 AFCON winner.
The 28-year old may likely return to his parent for proper treatment and speed up the process of recovery.
