Montpellier’s left wing back Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo has been named in the team L’Equipe best XI for Week 5 of the French league 1 championship.
It is the first time this season that the versatile Cameroon defender/midfielder has earned the recognition.
This comes following his brilliant Oyongo performance for Montpellier over OGC Nice in an exciting league fixtures which his side won by 2 goals to 1 on Saturday.
Cameroonian midfielder Adrian Tameze scored OGC Nice’s goal on the day while his club colleague and compatriot Ignatius Ganago had a quiet afternoon on the day Oyongo starred.
According to the French tabloid, Ambroise Oyongo operating as a left wing back earned 7 points and occupies the left back role despite operating as in a different role on the day.
Oyongo is the only Montpellier player in the XI which is powered upfront by Marseille’s Benedetto who scored 4 goals on the matchday.
The 28 year old Ndikinimeki born Indomitable Lion won the 2017 AFCON with Cameroon and was part of the Cameroon team that failed in their title defense ambitions in the 2019 competition.
