The president of Majestic Sporting club of Ouagadougou, Amado Traoré has sent words of encouragement and appreciation to health workers and the government of the West African nation locked in battle with the deadly CoronaVirus pandemic.
In a recent outing this week, the Majestic SC boss with an eye for the Burkina Faso football federation presidency expressed his gratitude, likened health workers to members of a football team defending the colours of the team.
“I wish to commend the determination and commitment of the government and our health workers in the fight against the Covid-19. Looking at the nature of the job and the challenges I will like to say they are a team defending our colours”. I can hardly find the right words to qualify their commitment:Traore stated.
The West African nation has recorded 557 cases of infected persons amounting to 35 registered deaths since the outbreak of the global pandemic.
Just like other clubs, president Traoré’s Majestic SC hasn’t kicked a ball since the Burkina Faso domestic championship was called off midway into the month of March as a result of the health threats of the CoronaVirus pandemic.
His club trails leaders Salitas by six points after 24 games in the 16 clubs Burkina Faso championship.
His comments is a huge boast for health workers in a country where the doctor-to-patients ratio is far from being the reference.
He joins the likes of Roberto Mancini and Lionel Messi as figures in the football industry who have commended the efforts of the guys of the medical core as the world continues to seek solutions to the global health quagmire.
