Nigeria representatives at the 2022 RedBull Neymar Jnr’s Fives, Alimosho FC Ladies bowed out of the Global Final after three games.
The team defeated a very technical Netherlands team 4-1 in its opening game.
This was followed by back-to-back games with two Brazilian sides losing the first 2-0 and settling for a 1-1 draw with the second Brazilian team.
“Having not qualified from a group that saw us play 2 different #Brazilian squads and a very technical #Netherland team, I must say I am truly proud of Nigerian contingent.
Pedro Damilola and her team at Red Bull did a super fantastic job of ensuring the teams got out here to play amidst Visa and passport issues and the players should be eternally grateful for this. The best hotel, in Doha, the very best meals, and even the best team conditions.

“The girls played a very technical Netherland team beating them 4-1, and moved on to Brazil losing 2-0, then drew with the second Brazilian team 1-1. They all should be proud of themselves.
However, we need to do better. We need to be able to get our best talents out on the Global stage more often.” The team posted after their gallant showing at the Global Final which took place in Qatar.
The team lost to Brazil 22 in the quarter final on Tuesday.
Alimosho FC Ladies will now return to Nigeria and focus on preparation for the next edition of Socia Liga (a league it has been dominating).
