Tunisian international left-back Ali Maâloul is attracting interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, according to reports from Tunisian media.

Maâloul currently plays for Egyptian giants Al Ahly since joining them in 2016 from CS Sfaxien.

The 30-year-old has made 74 league appearances for Al Ahly, scoring 13 goals, winning three Egyptian league titles, an Egyptian Cup and two Egyptian Super Cup titles.

Maâloul has won 61 caps for the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, since making his international debut on July 6, 2013 against Morocco. He represented Tunisia in the 2015, 2017 African Cup of Nations and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Al Hilal will face stiff opposition from the Al Ahly Board who are expected to reject their offer as Maâloul is considered as an important part of coach Rene Weiler’s team.

The player’s career ambitions might also be a decisive factor in the final outcome in what promises to be a very animated summer transfer window for him.
