Heavily linked with a move to Europe, Al Ahli’s Ali Maâloul has said he is not keen to leave the African giants for a move to Europe, as he considers the Egyptian club bigger than most European clubs.

The 29-year-old Tunisian international who is considered by many as one of the best wing-backs in the continent has been under the radar of many European clubs for a couple of years now.

The former CS Sfaxien player who has won 59 caps with the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia is greatly acclaimed for his athleticism and keen eye for goals.

Speaking to KingFut, after Tunisia’s 0-0 draw with Cameroon in an international friendly in Rades, Maâloul explained why he is not in any rush to leave the reigning Egyptian Champions:

“All the Tunisian players that have come to Egypt have been playing well. The Egyptian Premier League is one of the strongest leagues in Africa and it’s watched by many.

“I have received many offers in the past period, but my relationship with Al Ahli and their fans is perfect and I don’t think about leaving the club right now.

“Al Ahli is a very big club and it is bigger than many European clubs. I always feel happy inside it.”

Ali Maâloul joint Al Ahli in 2015, and has gone on to score 14 goals and provided 30 assists for them in 105 games.

The Tunisian has won three league titles, an Egyptian Cup and two Super Cups with the Red Devils.
