Despite agreeing terms and traveling to Congo Republic to join top-flight side AS Otoho Oyo, Alfred Meyong A Etong will no longer sign for the club again following a late contract disagreement between the signing of 31-year-old Cameroonian forward and the Brazzaville outfit.
The speedy winger who was in Congo last week has returned to Cameroon after Otoho Oyo officials attempted to renogotiate the signing and other bonuses they had agreed to pay him.
Meyong who scored eight goals and assisted 14 to help Canon achieve back-to-back top of the table finish in the past two seasons remains a free agent.
Meyong, an experienced forward who won the Cameroon top-flight title during his days at Eding Sport of Lekie and also played for Stade Renard is blessed with pace and ability to dribble in tight spaces.
The 2017 Eding Sport ‘player of the season’ has represented Cameroon at Under-23 and Intermediate national team categories.
Meyong was a part of the Cameroon team at the 2020 African Nations Championship on home soil and his exploits earned admiration from across the country.
