Supporters of French Ligue Un side FC Metz have voted their 31-year-old Algerian goalkeeper Alexandre Roger Oukidja as their player of the just ended season.
The former LOSC Lille shot stopper edge the club’s lead scorer Habib Diallo and Fabien Centonze to win the award.
The African champion who took his nations success feel to Metz this season averaging three saves per game this season.
In all, Oukidja made 96 saves leaving a lasting impact on the club and an indelible mark in the heart of the club’s fans surely why he won by a wide margin.
He was back up to Rais Mboli in the Algeria team that beat Senegal in the 2019 AFCON final to claim the title.
FC Metz ended the season on the 15th spot largely thanks to the brilliance of the experienced keeper.
The one-time Strasbourg keeper is tied to the club till the summer of 2021.
