Former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon duo Alexandre Song and Dani Nounkeu will be crowned champions of the Djibouti Premier League come the end of the current season.
Song has skippered AS Arta Solar 7 to their maiden domestic top-flight championship title in the club’s over four decades of existence.
Match-day 16 of the championship was historic as AS Solar sealed the title success on the Friday evening when they recorded a 4-2 win over second-seeded Port.
The win put gave the club an 11 points cushion atop with three games left this season.
Song arrived Djibouti late last year but has had a great impact in the life of the championship and his particular as he skippers them to their maiden title.
It is just the second domestic championship success for the 33-year old former Arsenal midfielder who won the La La with Barcelona in 2012.
Song has had somewhat a globetrotting career and these days at Solar 7 he is playing while preparing for retirement just around the corner.
