Egyptian Premier League outfit Al-Masry have completed the acquisition of a new head coach in charge of the first team barely hours after parting ways with Tarek El-Ashry following their two-nil defeat against Al Ahly.
The Club made both decisions on Monday, August 31st with the obvious objective of achieving a better performance.
Coach Tarek struggled to get the tactics better than that of his opponents in his last days as coach of the Club winning just two of his last eight games.
His replacement, Ali Maher, 43-year-old, is a retired Egypt international with a proven reputation in management of Clubs in the country.
The 2001 CAF Champions League winner as an Al Ahly player has been manager of Al-Masry’s rivals ENPPI where he achieved a 27% win rate.
Al-Masry are logged in the 16th spot in the 18Clubs Egyptian Premier League after accumulating 21points from 20 games this season.
They travel to 4th-placed Al-Mokawloon on Thursday for a match-day 24 appointment which will mark a new beginning under Ali Maher.
