Egyptian giants Al Ahly of Cairo have parted ways with their 58 year Uruguayan coach Martin Bernardo Lasarte Arróspide on Sunday, barely 24 hours after a shock elimination in the Egyptian Cup.
Al Ahly were beaten by Pyramids in the last-16 of the tournament by 1-0.
Lasarte who was appointed as coach of Al Ahly in December 2018, to replace Patrice Carteron led them to an Egyptian League title win this season with a game to spare.
The former Universidad Chile coach has been replaced by his assistant Mohamed Youssef on a temporal basis, while waiting for the recruitment of a new “foreign technical director.”
The club thanked the Uruguayan for his time and achievements with them.
