Libyan Premier League giants Al Ahli Tripoli have agreed to hire experienced Tunisian trainer Faouzi Benzarti as their new head coach ahead of the 2022-2023 season.
The 72-year old has been a free agent in the past months but Ahli management have talked and settled on the man with 43 years experience to be their next coach in replacement of Fathi Djabal who left for greener pastures in the middle East.
The 12 times Libyan champions who also have six cup titles to their credit will become the 13th club Benzarti manages in additon to three national team including Tunisia.
Faouzi Benzarti, a former Tunisian football player is considered one of the most successful coaches in Tunisia, having won over 15 trophies in his glittering career.
He has won nine Tunisian League titles, 1 Moroccan League (2019), a CAF Champions League in 1994 and a finalist in 2010 and 2019.
Al Ahli reached the quarterbof the CAF Interclub competition last year and will be looking out for more under the experienced campaigner.
Al Ahli will take to the pitch for a League fixture on July 13th as they face Al Nasr at home in what will be Benzarti’s debut on the dugout.
