Nigeria Under-17 forward, Akinkunmi Amoo has reached a four-year pre-contract with Swedish club side Hammarby according to SavidNews.
The young Sidos FC forward signed a pre-contract arrangement which will be completed when he turns 18 on the 7th of June.
The player relayed his delight at signing for the Swedish club jointly owned by Swedish Star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“I was so excited about the deal because it is a great privilege for me to have the platform to showcase my talent to the sporting world,” he told SavidNews.
“Hammarby is a great club. They treat everyone like family. The fans, the players, the management, the community, everyone of them are accommodating and supportive. The facilities are great too.
Amoo also disclosed that his decision to sign for the club was influenced by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
”I was star struck seeing one of the football legends [Zlatan Ibrahimovic] in front of me but as a Nigerian, I managed my excitement well. We had a little touch (ball) and a very long great conversation. He is a great man and I’m happy to have met him.
Amoo was a member of the stars in the golden eaglet team at the 2019 Under-17 African Cup of Nations in Tanzania. He featured in games in the tournament.
He came on the limelight after his wonderful display in the qualifiers for the AFCON against Ivory Coast. A match he scored an hat trick in Nigeria’s five one win.
He was a part of the Nigeria team that exited last year’s Under-17 world cup in the round of 16.
