Nigerian defender, Akeem Latifu has joined Norwegian division one side, FK Jerv on a two and half year deal.
This was confirmed in a press release by the club which was published on the club’s website.
The Nigerian is a defender who has played for Hødd, Aalesund, and Sogndal.
He signed for Mjøndalen last winter but was unable to cement a permanent place in the team. The 30-year-old played 18 games for Mjøndalen in last year’s Elite Series.
Akeem Latifu according to the club is a suitable replacement for Daniel Arrocha, who is out injured for the rest of the season.
Jerv has brought in a number of players this season and hopes to improve their league performance by gaining promotion after spending three seasons in the lower half of the Division 1 table.
Jerv season opener against KFUM Oslo will take place next Friday as Akeem Latifu is expected to make his debut for his new club.
