Akamba was in superb form last month and has been consistently excellent since joining Tiko United in the build up to the current season.
His memorable April also saw him win the South West Regional League man of the match award on two occasions; against TERMTSA of Mamfe in a 1-0 victory in Buea and against Continental FA in a 3-0 win at the Tiko Town Green Stadium.

Akamba started all four of Tiko United’s games in April and put in a shift, earning the nickname ‘Fai Collins’ from Samba diehards.
Reacting to the first ever player of the month win in his career, the former Mount Cameroon FC and AS Dibombari defender expressed satisfaction and gratitude on Twitter.
“Wow!!! Special thanks to the coaches, fans who always call me @faicollins and my wonderful team mates!! I dedicate this award to you all and invite you to Buea next week for the grand finale of the first round of this great season in the making!!!!! Allez Samba…”
Akamba’s work rate and input from the flanks was missed in the 3-1 against Little Foot FC following an injury sustained following a heavy challenge against Best Stars Academy.
“He has shown unmatched commitment since arriving the club. He deserves the award just like Bissong Pascal, John Njoh who were nominated but I tell you what, even guys like Enow Leke and Bisse Alain have given alot to take us this far but I implore the entire squad to work harder for the days ahead promises to be brighter,” Barrister Mballa Fabrice propeller of the new Tiko United FC project told kick442.com before going on to reveal what Akamba will back home.
“We will hand him an envelope before the start of Monday’s training session and it will contain a cash prize of 20 000 francs CFA and a trophy but with hardwork from him and the rest of the squad the next winner will get even more.”
Tiko United against all odds are leaders of Pool A of the Southwest Regional championship after six matches. The Samba boys in the season of their tenth anniversary of relegation have won four and played a draw in one of their six games this season.
Akamba and his club colleagues will travel to Buea mid next week to confront joint leaders Aljazeera FA of Muyuka in the final round of matches in this season’s championship and both sides are tied on 13 points going into that fixture which could see Akamba return to the squad a full recovery from the injury that put him out of the win against Little Foot FC on Saturday.
