Nigerian forward, Rasheedat Ajibade kicked off the opening game of the 2022/2023 Spanish Liga F Women game with a goal against Sevilla as her team, Atletico Madrid recorded a 1-3 away win on Saturday.
Rasheedat Ajibade scored the first goal of the match in the 34th minute which was the only goal recorded in the first half of the game.
In the second half, the top goal scorer at the last FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Inma Gabarro equalised for Sevilla in the 50th minute.
Six minutes later, Ludmilla restored Atletico Madrid’s lead before converting her second goal which was Atletico Madrid’s third in the 69th minute.
Sevilla’s Diana Gomes was sent off in the 73rd minute.
Rasheedat Ajibade saw 90 minutes of action before she was replaced by Czech Republic’s Andrea Staskova.
Toni Payne played for the duration of the game for Sevilla.
Atletico Madrid with the win moved to the top of the log with three points and a superior goal difference ahead of Real Sociedad, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Madrid CFF.
The team will next face Alaves on September 25 while face Valencia on September 24, 2022.
