Six African countries are set to participate at the Aisha Buhari Women Football Tournament.
Host, Super Falcons of Nigeria alongside Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Morocco, Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon and Black Queens of Ghana have also confirmed their participation in the tournament which will take place in September 2021.
Nigeria’s economic capital, Lagos, will host the 10-day event.
It should be recalled that the Super Falcons of Nigeria recently participated at the Turkish Women’s Cup and the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Melvin Pinnick have promised that every FIFA Women’s windows will be utilised by Super Falcons in preparation for the 2022 African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco which will also serve as the Qualifiers for 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Nigeria remained the only African country to have featured at all editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup since the inaugural edition in 1991.
