Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa has vehemently denied reports that he has been diagnosed of the deadly Covid-19.
The 27-year-old Al Nasr forward has used his social media account to debunk any reports that he had been diagnosed of the virus.
“It has come to my notice that certain individuals have decided to post false news about me testing positive of Covid-19,” the former Kano Pillars forward wrote on Instagram.
“This is a pandemic taking people’s lives in thousands so it is sad that some people want to use this to gain followers or views on their pages by spreading falsehood.
“My family and I came from Saudi Arabia and decided to follow the government’s rule of isolation for 14 days, not because any of us have the virus. We are perfectly okay and have not tested positive to the virus.
“Please don’t fall for the malicious message circulating about me or me family. Stay safe and maintain social distancing,”
Musa joint Saudi top flight side Al Nasr in 2018 from Leicester City after a loan spell with CSKA Moscow. He has scored 7 goals in 47 league appearances for the Saudi Pro League club.
The 2011 African Youth Championship winner has won three Russian Premier League titles, the Saudi Pro League and the 2013 African Cup of Nations amongst other trophies.
He has won 91 caps for Super Eagles of Nigeria, scoring 15 goals.
