Tunisia’s minister of Sports Ahmed Gaaloul has given the go-ahead for clubs to resume practice in preparation for the rest of the current football season.
The minister announced his decision this Wednesday evening stating that clubs can resume training on May 24 in anticipation of full resumption of the domestic championships.
According to the minister the government envisages a resumption in the league one and two championships by the end if June or early July.
However the minister has stated that strict guidelines will be put in place for the federation and other actors.
The Tunisian top-flight Championship has been on a hold since February due the threats of the CoronaVirus pandemic.
There has been 1022 persons tested positive of the virus in Tunisia. 482 of them have recovered while 43 have died.
So far 16 of the 26 games in the 14 clubs championship have been played with Esperance of Tunis comfortably at the top with a 10 points gap from CS Sfaxien.
