French Ligue 1 outfit Dijon have offered a first professional contract to 19-year-old Cameroon defender Ahmad Ngouyamsa.
Dijon who finished the prematurely ended French Ligue 1 campaign on the 16th spot have given the Cameroon defender a two-year contract.
Ngouyamsa made two appearances last season for coach Stéphane Jobard’s team, notably 1-0 league win over Lille on the 20th day of play of the French Ligue 1.
“When I learnt that I was going to sign my first professional contract, I was very happy, but the most important for me, was to make my parents happy,” Ngouyamsa said on the club’s official website.
“This is the fruit of all the hard work I have put in to get to this point. I just accomplished the first mission I set to attain in my objectives.
“Now, I know the most difficult has just started. I am going to continue working hard so that the coach will turn to me.”
Ahmad Toure Ngouyamsa was a member of the Cameroon U-17 team that took part in the U-17 African Cup of Nations in Gabon in 2017 and was invited into the senior team by Antonio Conceição ahead of Cameroon’s 2021 AFCON qualifier against Mozambique but the game was postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
