Day four was good for East African side, Uganda and North Africa side, South Sudan as they secured their first win after their match of the 2021 FIBA Afrobasket Qualifiers going on at Kigali Arena, Rwanda.
The Silverbacks defeated Morocco by a slim margin of 94-90 a day after losing to Egypt by 97-77 in group E.
Robinson Opong the star of the night with 29 points, with Jimmy Enabu (16) and John Deng Geu (14) doing their part to secure a big win for Uganda.
In group A, South Sudan also recorded it first win beating West African side, Mali 77-64.
South Sudan players utilised their height advantage to out-rebounded Mali 55-34.
Anyiarbany Makoi put all-around numbers (10 pts, 6 rebs & 5 asts) to help his team to the win.
However, Sourata’s incredible deep shooting (4/5) was not sufficient for Mali to get something out of the game.
In the same group, Nigeria’s D’Tigers won it second game against host, Rwanda to go top of the group.
Top performance from the two Ikes who got double digits- Ike Diogu had 18 points, 6 rebounds and 1assit, Ike Iroegbu with an eye for a pass, had 17 points, 7 assist and 2 rebounds.
