Basketball giants in Africa, Angola and Senegal got off to a winning start in the Afrobasket qualifiers which started on Wednesday at Kigali, Rwanda.

It was total dominance from Senegal as they saw off Kenya 92-54 in the first match of the day.

Angola, in the second match of the day triumphed over their opponents Mozambique 87-58.

Despite the cagey first quarter, Senegal took the first half of the contest with Ibrahima Faye doing a great job for Senegal. It 47-33.

An almost flawless fourth quarter ensured a huge win with large point margin for the former Afrobasket champions.

Angola stood tall from the first quarter to the fourth quarter to outwit the Mozambicans with the help of captain Olimpio Cipriano who was the player of the game.

The Angolans led with at least 2 points in each quarter to win the game and wrap an exciting day in Kigali Arena.
