The second game of the FIBA U18 African Championship 2020 between Defending Champions Mali and 2018 runners up, Senegal on Friday ended in a narrow victory for Senegal.
After a first quarter win of 23-17, Senegal looked poised to end the tie on a high.
In the second quarter, Senegal extended it lead to ten points margin winning 45-35 points.
Mali came out better, but Senegal continued it hold on the game finishing the third quarter with a 61 points to 52 points win.
Malians continued their impressive play since the beginning of the second phase gaining 26 points against Senegal’s 19.
It was however not enough as Senegal narrowly won by 80 to 78 points with the help of Khalifa Ababacar Diop who had 17 points, 17 rebounds and 2 assists.
