Guinea recorded it first victory of the U18 Afrobasket Championship after beating Mali 63-60.
After what seemed a struggle in the first half falling 34-27, the Guineans gave it a fight to finish to emerge winners of the tie.
Guinea had lost it first game against Egypt and the game against Mali was like it will go in that direction.
However, Ousmane Araphan Kaba’s brilliance shooting 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists helped Guinea back into the game.
For defending champions, Mali it is it second defeat of the tournament after falling to Senegal in it first game.
Senegal battle Guinea tomorrow while host Egypt face defending champions Mali.
