Egypt continued it perfect record in this year’s edition of the FIBA Afrobasket Under eighteen Championship after beating Mali on Sunday.
Having won Guinea and Senegal, Egypt completed the clean sweep beating Mali as it heads to the semis as one of the favourite for the title and the qualification ticket for the FIBA under nineteen championship next year.
The interesting tie saw defending champions Mali who have been the weeping boys of the tournament play strongly to equal score in the first quarter. The quarter ended 32-32.
The host nonetheless showed the same performance that have seen it emerge victorious over Guinea and Senegal as it defeated Mali at the end.
Abdullah Ahmed scored 16 points, 12 rebounds and 1 assist to give Egypt 77-61 Mali.
Egypt play Mali on Tuesday in the Semifinals.
