In a radio communique signed by the Governor of the Centre region, Naseri Paul Bea this Thursday,February 25, the Family members of the eight deceased persons, of the January 24th Olembe stampede have been invited to the Centre region Governor’s office for the necessary formalities regarding a presidential financial support.
According to the release, the Head of State president Paul Biya, has disbursed the sum of 84 millions and Seven hundred thousand FCFA to be distributed to the afflicted families who suffered human life lost or injuries due to the incident.
It should be noted that, the unfortunate and unforgettable incident occured during the 8th finals of the 2021 TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations fixture pitting the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon against the Colocantes of Comoros as fans struggled to force their way into the Stadium.
The Payments of the compensations have been scheduled from Friday 25 , February 2022 as from 11 am and ends on Monday 28th , 2022 at 10 am.
The Head of State’s largesse to his beloved compatriots, comes after the cry of a good number of these afflicted families about the challenges faced after the tragedy.
