The entire Indomitable lions squad are level-headed prior to their upcoming game against the Gambia. Captain Aboubakar and mates are positive minded and have promised working more header in the days ahead.
In a post game exchange with the press, lndomitable lions’ forward Maxime Choupo Moting had the following:
” We had lots of respect for the Comoros team, it was a great game. It was not easy playing a ten man team. We really had difficult moments developing a good game strategy. On our side, we have to improve our game style,so as to play better next time”.
“There are a lot of things to improve upon, the AFCON has a lot of surprises and no team should be underestimated”.
” We were a hundred percent serious in our game and at the end we won. We will proceed with the next round and try to do the things we didn’t do in the Comoros game”.
“We have been conceding goals in every game, yes and true, but that’s football. But we are determined and focused in scoring more goals. We know the Gambian strength is based on their fast and block game style. So, beating them for sure will be a bitter pill to swallow. ”
Cameroon’s first goal had surfaced at the 29th minutes of play by Toko Ekambi with an assist from Aboubakar. Then came an early red card granted to Nadjim Abdou following a serious fault on Moumi Ngamaleu ‘s ankle.
The second goal for the lions was a realisation of captain Aboubakar at the 70 minutes, thanks to an assist from Martin Hongla.
But the Comoros continue giving the lions a tough time, by opening tally at the 81 minutes through a stunning forty-five metres free-kick sign Youssouf M’Changama . Meanwhile, left-back Chaker Alhadur produced a brilliant performance as stand-in goalkeeper.
