The 24-year-old had a full Super Eagles debut to remember, scoring the winner after just 10 seconds of play.
Paul Onuachu scored a superb winner as
Nigeria defeated Egypt 1-0 to start their 2019
Africa Cup of Nations Cup preparation on a positive note at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on Tuesday.
It took only 10 seconds of play for the FC Midtjylland forward to score what would be the matchwinner against Javier Aguirre’s men – hosts of the Afcon finals in June.
The game which was tightly contested saw Egypt having few goal scoring chances save for their possessive play that saw them try to get a late equaliser.
In the first half, Arsenal FC forward, Alexander Iwobi missed a Gilt edge chance as his strike was not well played as Egyptian goal keeper easily catched the ball.
Alexander Iwobi also saw almost the same genre of chance in the second half after Henry Onyekuru had successfully went pass two (2) Egyptian defenders but his effort was well handled by Egyptian defenders.
Moses Simon powerless free kick was also comfortably saved by Egyptian goal keeper in the second half.
Egypt had possession in the final 20 minute of the game in search of an equalising goal which made Nigeria’s substitute goal keeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa pull out a fantastic save. All efforts by the Pharaohs to get an equalising goal proved abortive.
