Cameroon’s stay in Egypt has been cut short, after the team’s loss to their Moroccan counter in the 2022 African Men’s Handball Championship on Tuesday .
The two teams who are in group A alongside host Egypt , ended the round on a 35-28 score line.
the Moroccan handball team dominated the first and second half of the game against Cameroon, winning 18-14 in the first half and 35-28 in the second half.
The Moroccan player Mehdi Alaoui was named the man of the match for his vital contributions to his team’s victory.
The lions who entered into this game with hopes of rectifying the errors they committed against Egypt in the first match, have no choice now but to leave the tournament with no point.
The early exit ofSimon Buchard’s boys means , they will not be participating in the word handball champion in 2023 in Poland and Sweden ,as only the five last teams will automatically qualify.
With this victory, Morocco has qualified for the quarter finals in this tournament and is set to meet with Eqypt.
As for other groups, Guinea tops group B , with Tunisia and Cape Verde occupying the first and second position in group C. Angola and Congo will face off in the quarterfinals in group D.
