Cameroon forward, Clinton Njie has returned to the Indomitable Lions Den ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations to take place in Cameroon early next year.
According to a release from the communication unit of the Cameroon football federation, the 28-year-old Dynamo of Moscow striker has been pre-selected by Indomitable Lions lead trainer, Antonio Conceicao to be part of Team Cameroon’s squad during the continent’s football festival.
Coach Antonio Conceicao,has named the former Tottenham Hotspur forward in a list of 40 players pre-selected for the upcoming Pan-African football tournament.
Clinton Njie who has been an integral part of Dynamo of Moscow’s title chasing run in the Russian top-flight football championship this season where the team is currently ranked 2nd, has not featured for the Indomitable Lions since November 2020.
The swift dribbling forward made his debut for Cameroon against the Democratic Republic of Congo in September 2014 and has had 36 appearances for the Indomitable Lions.
The native of the South West region has scored 10 goals for the team with the most recent being a strike against Mozambique on November 12, 2020 at the Yaounde Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in the qualifiers to the 2021 AFCON.

The former Olympique des Marseille goal poacher has represented Cameroon in three Africa Cup of Nations, having featured for the Lions in 2015 in Equatorial Guinea, AFCON 2017 in Gabon where he helped the country bag its 5th title in the competition and most recently in Egypt in 2019.
Njie will be hoping to help Cameroon record its 6th crown in the AFCON when the tournament take place in the country from January 9 to February 6, 2022.
