CEMAC zone nations notably Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon have staged a great performance in their participation at the ongoing 33rd edition of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations hosted by one of the block’s member, Cameroon.
The three nations with a great football potentials, have succeeded in bracing the odds,so as to partake in the eighth round of the African soccer mass.
Team Cameroon, found in group A, alongside Cape Verde, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso, recorded two victories and a draw with a total score of seven goals and three conceded. The outstanding performance of Cameroon placed the team on the lead in their group with a qualification ticket of seven points to the next round.
The Panthers of Gabon in group C, joined with Ghana, Morocco and Comoros, played three games, won 1 and drew 2.The team picked the eighth round ticket with seven points, scoring five goals and conceding four.
Lastly, Equatorial Guinea, the Nzalang Nacional have succeeded in grabbing six points with a single win and defeat, and one draw. Scoring two goals, Equatorial Guinea conceded one goal.
In view of the most crucial and decisive phase of the competition slated for Sunday 23rd January, the Panthers of Gabon will clash against the Stallions of Burkina Faso in Limbe. Same day,Cameroon will lock horns to Comoros in Yaounde. Meanwhile, Equatorial Guinea takes on Mali on January 26 in Limbe.
However, with the competition organized within, the CEMAC sub-region, many football supporters continue expressing their ardent desire to see the silver coverted trophy stay within the CEMAC zone.
