Comoros Island made history on Thursday by qualifying for their first African Cup of Nations (AFCON) after playing out a goalless draw with Togo.
Comoros Island qualified for the next year’s AFCON which will be hosted by Cameroon alongside Group G leaders, Egypt after the Pharaohs and ten-man Kenya played out a 1-1 draw.
Egypt and Comoros Island are tied on nine points each in Group G.
In Group H, Zimbabwe joined African Champions, Algeria in booking their place in Cameroon next year after Perfect Chikwende’s goal propelled them to a 1-0 win over Botswana.
Gabon and the Gambia with 10 points each made it out of Group D ahead of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with six points.
Group C is still tight with Sudan (nine points) hanging on the neck of Ghana and South Africa (both with 10 points) with a game to play.
Equatorial Guinea joined 2004 Champions, Tunisia after Emilio Nsue’s 90th minute goal pushed them to a 1-0 win over Tanzania.
More games on Friday and Saturday will Confirm other team’s qualification for the tournament.
