Senegal captain Kalidou Koulibaly and first choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and Famara Diedhiou have tested positive for COVID-19 the Senegalese FA has confirmed.
Remember, Senegal delayed their departure to Afcon due to some positive cases in the squad on Tuesday before their departure to Cameroon.
The 2019 finalists now have their work cut out with the recent COVID-19 cases shooting up to 12 after the confirmation of their nine players that have tested positive to the virus.
The players will therefore miss their opening game against Zimbabwe on Monday.
Many have cast doubt on the tournament with the virus ravaging different teams with just a day to the kick off the tournament.
Senegal have been drawn in Group B in Africa Cup of Nations and will begin their tournament against Zimbabwe on January 1, before facing Guinea and then Malawi on January 14 and January 18.
