Participation and other appearance bonuses for players of Cameroon senior men’s national football team in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament has been revealed.
According to information from sources at the Cameroon Football Federation, each of the 28 players in the Indomitable Lions squad will be expected to bag home the sum of over one hundred and fourteen million, four hundred and fifty thousand FCFA at the end of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon if the Lions emerge champions.
All the players present at the squad for the competition will be given 450 thousand FCFA by the Cameroonian FA as fee for their presence during the competition.
Each of the players will pocket home 30 MFCFA each as tournament participation fee.
The sum of 15MFCFA will be handed to each of the players if the team reach the round of 16 of the competition. An additional 9MFCFA will also be expected to be given to the players for a victory at the round of 16.
Team Captain Eric Maxim Choupou Moting and mates will also be looking up to be given an additional 10MFCFA each if the Lions record a win in the quarterfinals of the forthcoming tournament with the squad to get 15MFCFA more in case of a win at the semifinals of the African soccer jamboree.
In case of a defeat at the semifinal stage, each of the players will still be expected to bag home a sum of five million FCFA each in case they emerge victorious in the third placed game.
The Indomitable Lions will pocket the sum of 30MFCFA each if they qualify for the final of the competition with an additional sum of money expected on the sum.
The projected pay package will be made available by the Cameroon Football Federation and its partner and superior institutions including Cameroon’s Ministry of Sports and Physical Education with many looking forward to a free and transparent management of the financial transactions.
The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Cameroon from January 9 to February 6, 2022 with 24 nations participating across six pools in five major cities during the 33th edition of the Pan African soccer gathering.
Five time champions, Cameroon will be competing in Group A of the competition alongside the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde Islands, the Waliax of Ethiopia and Burkina Faso.
The hosts will battle out with 2012 runner up, the Stallions of Burkina Faso in the tournament opener at the Yaounde Olembe Stadium on Sunday January 9.
