Egypt Football Association, EFA has accepted demands by English Premier League outfit, Liverpool FC to have Egyptian striker, Mohammed Salah represent the club in the EPL before the joining the Egyptian senior national team in camp early next year ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mohammed Salah will leave the Merseyside club by at least January 3, 2022, a day after Liverpool FC’s EPL title-deciding duel against defending European Champions, Chelsea.
The agreement entails Liverpool FC will only miss the former AS Roma star during two match days on January 15 against newcomers Brentford and on January 23 against Crystal Palace with the forward expected to be back for the Red’s home fixture against Leicester City on February 10, five days after the final of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
This schedule will be respected only if Egypt qualifies for the final of the tournament with failure to do so giving higher probability for a reduction in the number of games the goal poacher will miss for Liverpool as a result of the 2021 AFCON festival.
Mohammed Salah who has scored over 15 goals for Liverpool this season and his Egyptian side are lodged in Group D of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations considered as arguably the toughest group in the tournament.
The seven time holders will be battling with three time winners, the Super Eagles of Nigeria, 1970 holders Sudan and Guinea Bissau at the Garoua Roumde Adja Stadium.
The North Africans will be looking forward to extend their leadership on the competition’s title rankings with forward Mohammed Salah expected to be at the core of the Pharaoh’s glory chasing visit in the land of the Indomitable Lions.
