The Panthers of Gabon will face the Stallions of Burkina in one of the 16th finals game of the 2021 TotalErnegies African Cup of Nations.
Coach Patrice Niveu’s team picked up a point this Tuesday following a 2-2 draw against group winners Morocco.
Aaron Boupenza and mates finished led twice but were pegged back twice in the battle top group B.
Gabon with five points finished runners-up to seven-points Morocco and will face Burkina Faso who sailed through from group A behind hosts Cameroon.
The standings of both teams amount to a 16th final clash between Gabon and Burkina Faso
Both sides will battle for a quarter-final spot on January 23 in a fixture penciled for for 5pm at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium.
Gabon were one of the first teams to play at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium back in 2016, just before the 2017 AFCON.
The rest of the 16 final games to be played in Douala, Yaounde, Bafoussam and Garoua will be decided per results of matches in the days ahead.
The 2021 African Cup of Nations tournament has produced loads of surprises as the competition heads towards the business end.
