The Foxes of Algeria were crowned African Champions, following their 1#0 win over Senegal in the grand finale on Friday at the Cairo international Stadium. The win means Djamel Belmadi and his boys will pocket 4.5 million US Dollars, the prize money for the champions. The amount given to the 2019 champions, has witnessed an increase of half a million, as compared to the 4 million dollars that was given to 2017 Champions, Cameroon.
The runners up, Senegal, will bag home 2.5 million dollars, which has also been increased by half a million, in relations to what Egypt received in 2017.
Third place Nigeria goes home with 2 million dollars, same prize as Tunisia, who finished fourth.
Madagascar who were in their maiden AFCON, Benin and the others who made it to the quarter finals, will each receive 800,000 dollars.
