In the presser held earlier today at hotel Mont Febe, head-coach Clarence Seedorf took the defense of Zoua, and defended his choice of selecting the country’s flop forward who is yet to make a mark in the national colours and even at club level.
Seedorf in his words seemed to find some rare aspects in the center forward that no other person in the country see’s.
“Zoua is a very important player. He can play in several positions . if Aboubakar would have been fit, Zoua maybe wouldn’t have made it. He can keep the ball. he work’s hard, he is always present with training sessions”.
It is difficult to see where all these praises go to, given Zoua is yet to score in a competitive game for national colours,8 years after his debut Seedorf continued
“He does not score goals but he works hard for the team. He has other characteristics we want, I hope you value how he works hard and press for the ball”.
“He scored goals against Alcorcon though it is not the the best team you still need to be there to score”.
According to Seedorf, the striker hugely criticised puts in a shift every time he is asked to.
Zoua was a part of the team that won the 2017 AFCON in Gabon and is one of only 13 players in the Cameroon squad who won the trophy in the last edition.
