Clarence Seedorf and Stephane Bahoken meet the media before Benin Vs Cameroon game

The head coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon has told the media in his pre-match presser this Monday in Ismaila that, he is confident his strikers will score goals in the games ahead because his team creates enough chances and he is satisfied about the number chances the team creates.

Reacting to questions about the offensive ability of a Clarence Seedorf led team that has scored two goals in two games with only one goal from a forward, Seedorf sounded confident about his strikers know-how and pointed a few to get off the mark in no distant time.

“I sleep very well everyday,You have watched the matches and the number of chances we create every game,we always want to score,Christian Bassogog obviously is a guy who knows to score goals, sometimes its important for other players to score too .Its also important that we keep clean sheets,we have done so 2 times now in this tournament and in 3 consecutive games, that gives us confidence to do more especially given that we are an ambitious team”

“I have been in Football for long, you don’t work on people just scoring gaols,we have fantastic options upfront,Choupo,Bahoken,Bassogog,Toko gives us multiple options, I remember before the last qualifier game against Comoros we had the same problem of just one goal scored then against Comoros we score 3 in 90 minutes. We just have to keep creating chances and the goals will follow.”

Christian Basssogog’s last International goal was scored against Comoros in the last 2019 AFCON qualifier game in Yaounde but the China-based forward’s tag of 2019 AFCON MVP have pushed up expectations from fans and Journalists alike who consider his run of 2 AFCON games without a goal as a drought.

Seedorf’s Cameroon team with 4 points from 2 games face Benin on 2 points in their last 2019 AFCON Group F game at the Ismaila Stadium with the game scheduled to kick-off at 6 PM local time.

Both Nations still have a chance of progressing to the next round of competition as group winners for which ever team gets a win in Tuesday’s game.
