Super Eagles of Nigeria have knocked out the defending Champions of African Cup of Nations (AFCON), Cameroon out of the tournament with a 3-2 victory in the Round of 16.
Odion Jude Ighalo gave Nigeria a first half lead in the 19th minute before Bahoken Equalised for the Indomitable Lions in the 41st minute.
Clinton Njie capitalised on Nigeria’s sloppy defending to put the defending Champions in the lead in the 44th minute.
Half time ends Cameroon 2-1 Nigeria.
In the second half, sweeping Nigeria move brings about the equaliser as Ahmed Musa chests a cross into the path of Odion Ighalo to volley into the net from close range in the 63rd minute.
Alex Iwobi keeps his cool to fire past the keeper after Odion Ighalo turns provider with a clever pass to tee-up his team-mate.
It’s a lovely finish by the Arsenal man and suddenly Cameroon, the holders went behind 3-2 in the 66th minute.
Nigeria will play tge winner of the Round of 16 clash between Host Egypt and South Africa.
