Guinea’s coach Paul Put has included Naby Keita in his provisional 25-man squad for AFCON 2019 despite him suffering from a thigh injury he picked up at Barcelona on May 1st during the champions league.

Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp had said Naby Keita will be out for two months but the 24 year old is part of Liverpool’s 26-man squad currently in Spain ahead of the UEFA champions league finals against Tottenham.

Other key players included in coach Paul Put’s list are in-form Bordeaux striker Francois Kamano, Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara and the Syli National captain Ibrahima Traoré who plays in the German Bundesliga.

Guinea begins their preparations on May 28th in Conakry before leaving for Marrakech for a two week training camp. They are expected to play warm up matches against The Gambia on June 7th and Benin four days later. Their third and final warm up match will be against the 2019 AFCON host Egypt on June 16th in Alexandria.

Guinea will play in Group B with three times African champions Nigeria and debutants Madagascar and Burundi.
