The Elephants of Cote D’voire broke a long time jinx of not winning against South Africa in the African Cup of Nations as they went on to win 1-0 in their first group match today.

Cote D’voire had not won against the Bafana Bafana team in six games prior to now; drawing four and losing two matches.

Jonathan Kodjia was the hero as he scores with a assist from Gradel to give the Éléphants their first win in the 65 minute against South Africa.

The Ivorian team extended their winning streak from the 2019 AFCON qualifiers with the win over South Africa.

2015 winners, Cote D’Voire seek to better their previous performances with a star studded team which sports enthusiasts tip as one of the favourites to win the African Cup of Nations.

Cote D’voire will play Morocco in their next game in the match many regard as the real test for the Elephants in four days time.
