Cameroon’s left back Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo has told the media this Wednesday morning at the Lions based at Mercure Hotel that the Cameroon team is quite excited about their AFCON 16 final clash against Nigeria this Saturday in Alexandre.
Speaking a day after the Lions failed to score in another game in the ongoing tournament,the Montpeillier defender said he is satisfied because they have attained their objective though he thinks the mood could have been better if the team was scoring goals.
“I have never faced Nigeria, I have watched their games in this AFCON,they have a good team,they are fast and strong,we have our strength. Every time we play against a big team we forget the name, we think about the game and go out to do our best for ourselves and our country”
Reacting to questions about the 4 hours Journey from the team’s current base at Ismaila to Alexandre.
“We have enough time to rest we leave either today or tomorrow and we are playing on Saturday,the essential thing is to be serious between today and Saturday following instructions and tactical plans of the game is what will make our strength”
Ambroise Oyongo has played every minute of the last 8 AFCON games for Cameroon and remains one of the few players to have been in the AFCON on 3 occasions,he leads the Cameroon team in the changing rooms especially with his musical animations.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon face the Super eagles of Nigeria in the round of 16 this Saturday in a game to be the countries first AFCON meeting in 15 years.
