Chelsea FC have contacted Real Madrid to make inquiries on the situation of their 21-year-old Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi, currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

According to reports from the Mirror, Chelsea’s boss Frank Lampard is a great admirer of the highly gifted Moroccan.

Lampard has contacted Real for a possible move for Hakimi to west London in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid’s response to the Chelsea boss is that they will not like to make a decision on the player’s future now, they can only do so at the end of the season.

The Blues will therefore exercise patience and wait till the end of the season to know if they can add Hakimi to their squad or not.

The Moroccan has featured in 8 UEFA Champions League games this season for Dortmund and scored 4 goals.

He has also provided 10 assists and scored 3 goals in 25 Bundesliga appearances for Lucien Favre’s team this season.

His contract with Real Madrid runs until June 2022.
