Indomitable Lionesses’ of Cameroon forward Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene has signed a new two-year with Russian top-flight championship giants and current champions CSKA Moscow Ladies.
The 32-year old goal scoring forward penned a contract extension this Thursday, concluding weeks of negotiations with officials of the Moscow outfit.
The former striker who counts eleven goals this season for the club signed a new deal extending her stay till the summer of 2023.
Details about the remuneration of the ex-Louves Minprof and
Alpha Kaliningrad forward didn’t filter from the process but at least it is certain her stay at the club which started in 2017 will continue.
Considered one of the best recruit for the club since her arrival, Aboudi has gone on to feature for the club on 85 occasions in all competitions, scoring 29 goals.
The experience striker will be accompanying her side in the efforts to bring another title to Moscow next season. She has already won two Russian Women’s League and a cup title but remains hungry for more.
Aboudi has been a performing footballer in professional set ups for over a decade. Last year, the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) included her in the team of the decade between 2011- 2020.
Noted for pace and ability to go pass defenders, the erstwhile
Rossiyanka and Canon Ladies forward has created a reputation for herself as a guarantee goal getter.
Aboudi counts 69 caps and 19 goals for Cameroon’s senior women’s team and the multiple times nominee for the African Women’s Footballer of the year Award could skipper her country during next year’s women’s African cup of Nations tournament in Morocco- if Cameroon eliminates the Gambia in the final qualifying round in February.
