Indomitable Lionness captain Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene played a key role as her Russian club CSKA Moscow recorded a 2-1 in Match-Day six of Russian Women’s domestic Championship on Sunday at the Olimp-2 Stadium.
Onguene scored and won a penalty in the afternoon as his side cruise past the host in their charge towards the top of the table.
The vice champions of last season found the back of the net twice in the second segment from two penalties; the first won by Onguene and scored by Nevena Damjanović to equalize as Liana Yukhaeva had put the host ahead in the 45th minute.
Aboudi Onguene then scored a second goal from another penalty in the 78th minute to make it 2-1.
Aboudi who scored her side’s fourth last weekend took her tally to two goals in two games.
The game ended on the 2-1 score thus handing CSKA a fifth win in six outings this season and propels them to the second spot with 15 points and three points behind leaders Zenit Ladies.
CSKA travel to mid table Zvezda in their next League assignment on Wednesday.
