Barely days after assisting a goal in another Besiktas’ semi-final first-leg 2-2 draw, Indomitable of Lions Cameroon forward Vincent Aboubakar made another telling contribution in his Club’s 3-2 second-leg win Turkish cup semi-final win away to Istanbul Basaksehir of Demba Ba on Tuesday.
The striker who has outstanding in the past weeks came into the game in full confidence.
Besiktas were forced to be patient in a game that turned out to be a very difficult task until when Aboubakar scored a 17th minute opener from a great solo effort.
The goal gave Aboubakar and mates the leeway to display their usual possession-base football with the advantage.
Barely five minutes after the first goal, George Kevin N’Koudou in a rare start provided an assist for the side to score the second to hand Besiktas a two-nil advantage they kept till the break.
At the break,the Besiktas side led by goals to nil but the game was far from over.
15 minutes into the second segment,Istanbul pulled one back through D Turuc who scored at the same moment in the first leg.
Giuliano leveled scores in the 77th minute for Istanbul.
The game stayed on the same score till the end of the second segment, prompting prolongation as it was 2-2 on the night and 4-4 on aggregate.
Carl Larin restored the lead for Besiktas 12 minutes into extra time and his goal turned out to be the winner.
The latest goal takes Aboubakar’s season tally to 15 goals, five assist in 27 appearances in all competitions.
He has been directly involved in goals in his Club’s last four games.
The ended on a 3-2 score in favor of Aboubakar’s Besiktas who cement their place in the final awaiting their opponents.
Aboubakar is the Club’s lead scorer this season.
The 28-year-old former FC Lorient, Porto and Cotonsport forward is back at his best.
