Barely days after scoring twice in a win for Besiktas, Indomitable of Lions Cameroon forward Vincent Aboubakar made another telling contribution in his Club’s 3-2 Turkish Super League win away to Istanbul Basaksehir of Demba Ba on Friday.
The striker who scored in two their previous outing came into the match-day 30 fixture in full confidence.
Besiktas were forced to be patient in a game that turned out to be a very difficult task until when Carl Larin found the back of the net in the 42nd minute of play.
The goal gave Aboubakar and mates the leeway to display their usual possession-base football with the advantage they kept till the break.
At the break, it was a narrow one-nil lead for a Besiktas side that had their eyes on the top spot.
Seven minutes into the second segment,Istanbul leveled scores through D Turuc.
Wilington restored the lead 16 minutes later but the host equalized again through Demba Ba in the 68th minute.
Aboubakar assisted what turned out to be a late winner scored by Souza in the 84th minute.
The assist took Aboubakar’s season tally to 15 goals five assist in 24 appearances in the Turkish Super League.
He has been directly involved in goals in his Club’s last three games.
George Kevin Nkoudou was introduced in the 86th minute with Besiktas already looking towards the next game.
The ended on a 3-2 score in favor of Aboubakar’s Besiktas who cement their place as league leaders with 63 points after 28 games.
Aboubakar is the Club’s lead scorer this season.
The 28-year-old former FC Lorient, Porto and Cotonsport forward is back at his best.
